OVERVIEW: This position plays The Director of Boutiques plays a pivotal leadership role within Kering Beauté, overseeing the performance, operations, and strategic growth of Creed boutiques across the U.S. This role is responsible for driving sales performance and delivering an exceptional client experience through strong leadership, innovative sales strategies, and impactful brand events. In addition to managing existing boutique operations, the Director will play a key role in supporting the new store expansion plan, ensuring each new location launches with operational excellence and brand consistency. The role will also define and execute strategic action plans to maintain strong control over key performance indicators (KPIs), while fostering a culture of clienteling excellence and accountability across all boutiques.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operational Management
- Drive and maximize sales performance across all Creed boutiques in the U.S., consistently achieving sales targets while ensuring operational excellence and profitability.
- Inspire and support store leadership teams in executing company strategies, fostering a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and results.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess performance across key areas including team leadership, merchandising, KPIs, FOH/BOH standards, operational processes, and business tools.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance boutique operations and elevate customer experience.
- Monitor productivity, client KPIs, cost controls, and inventory management (including shrinkage), ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Develop and execute measurable action plans to drive sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Analyze business performance and market trends to identify opportunities and develop strategic action plans that drive sales and market share.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape to inform positioning and growth strategies.
- Demonstrate strong leadership competencies, including team building, cross-functional collaboration, and change management.
- Deliver periodic strategic reports to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations.
- Oversee CRM strategy execution:
- Ensure timely rollout and adoption of CRM initiatives across boutiques.
- Guide General Managers in achieving CRM targets and client-tier growth.
- Monitor execution of clienteling plans and ensure accountability for results.
- Partner with marketing to align CRM and clienteling efforts with top-line growth objectives.
- Track key clienteling metrics by location to ensure performance benchmarks are met.
- Collaborate with General Managers, Finance, and Business Planning to develop budgets, sales forecasts, and expense plans by location.
- Champion brand visibility and market presence, establishing a foundation for long-term growth.
Performance & Talent Development
- Continuously assess store leadership performance, providing timely coaching and feedback to drive improvement.
- Partner with HR on complex employee relations matters, escalating as appropriate.
- Lead the performance review and salary planning processes for boutique teams.
- Attract, recruit, and retain top-tier talent, building a strong pipeline through networking and competitive intelligence.
- Ensure a consistent, branded onboarding experience for all new hires.
- Collaborate with the training team to deliver impactful product and service training programs.
- Works with sales admin and sales promo team to execute sales strategy of the company and brands, including but not limited to:
- Identify, nurture, and acquire new clients and business opportunities to drive growth and profitability
- Research the latest trends and market positioning in beauty/fashion industry and create new opportunities to expand brand distribution
- Lead digital marketing initiatives, including co-op negotiations, digital media flights, and asset delivery for pure play accounts
- Main point of contact for all Pureplay (Amazon, Ssense, Hut Group)- both internally and externally
- Host monthly/weekly calls with each Pureplay to review marketing results & opportunities, product assortment, merchandising, new product launches, site updates and sample shipments
- ROI reviews on major promotions/initiatives
- Serve as subject matter expert on Pureplay & Specialty channel; share best practices and test & learn results with cross-functional teams (Online Team, Marketing, Sales Promotion, Sales Admin, & Creative)
- Effectively communicate competitor activity to the cross functional teams to ensure 360 view of digital landscape
CORE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
- 5–7 years of progressive sales and management experience in the luxury sector, preferably within fragrance or beauty.
- Deep understanding of the retail and fragrance business, with a proven ability to drive performance and elevate customer experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); technically savvy and comfortable with digital tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated strength in recruiting, training, coaching, and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to inspire and motivate sales teams while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Physical ability to perform in-store tasks, including standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and navigating stairs as needed.
